one room challenge: so close but not quite (week 6)

It’s Week 6 of the One Room Challenge, and as promised in last week’s post, we are not *quite* ready for the final reveal. I am excited to spend some time looking through the completed project posts of my fellow participants, but before I do that, a quick update on our beach A-frame project status:

Walls/trim: No change. Hoping to paint the rest of the trim and doors in the living/dining/sitting area this weekend. Still have not tested the paint for the crazy brown window wall but potentially have found someone with a large enough ladder to do the painting.
Flooring: Complete. Rugs purchased and received. Decided against a kitchen runner, so moved the runner purchased for the kitchen into one of the bedrooms.
Ceiling: Still waiting for the handy person/roofer to show.
Furniture, Furnishings, and Art – Living Area: Furniture mostly complete. Shelves hung and ready for books. Still need a cushion for the ottoman, pendant light to the right of the sofa, and possibly a side table. Three of five pieces of art hung. Still waiting for one piece of art and a 16”x16” frame for another piece that has already arrived. Also need a shelf/credenza/console to divide this area from the front door and create a drop zone that isn’t the kitchen counter (which has become clutter central- ugh).
Furniture, Furnishings, and Art – Dining Area: Furniture is complete. No rug necessary for this area and no wall on which to hang art. Pendant light and extra-long cord purchased but needs to be installed.
Furniture, Furnishings, and Art – Sitting Area: Furniture mostly complete, just need a side table for coffee. Art has shipped and frame has been purchased (for those keeping track and/or clicking the links, that’s $42 for art). Lighting and rug in place. Might replace ugly plastic hook on window wall. Or just take it down so my husband stops using it.

Now get on over to the One Room Challenge website and check out the reveals that are already posted. There will be a steady trickle of new posts over the weeks to come (up to 11/29) as shipments arrive and photos get taken. Look for our reveal (hopefully) during Thanksgiving week!
