a love story (and a coupon)

This post has been brought to you by the color pink and the letter P. Ok, not really. This post has actually been sponsored by the fine people at Wayfair, and if you know me at all, it goes without saying that all opinions are definitely my own.

Almost ten months ago, I walked into the Wayfair Lounge at Alt Summit and fell in love. I was pretty certain that I needed the “let’s make out” pillow and where had that fuchsia pouf been all my life? Yes, I totally matched the décor (down to my bag propped up against that amazing pink velvet slipper chair), and yes, I totally had a black eye because I attended this conference two weeks after eye surgery. You can imagine how popular I was. But let's get back to the pouf. Was this the answer to my quest for the perfect hot pink chair? Would my husband actually tolerate something pink in the living room if it wasn’t a full size chair?

I took my love for the pillow and the pouf home with me. I began pinning poufs. I thought I would add just a little more color to our living area. And then we made the huge decision to redo our floors and our kitchen at the same time. I had to buy paint and rugs and knobs and floor protectors. I didn’t buy my pillow and I didn’t buy my pouf.

But the pouf didn’t go away. It disguised itself in other colors and showed up everywhere. It showed up in my Pinterest feed as a cute ottoman in a reading corner. It showed up in emails from various designers. It showed up in magazines and catalogs and other people's blogs. And then it went on sale. In my color. In stock.

It was mine.

I initially thought that I would use my pouf as an ottoman with my existing arm chairs. You know, a nice little place to prop up the feet after a long day cleaning and cooking. Because that's how we do it. Right. A woman can dream.

I had no idea how much my youngest kids would love this pouf. In its first week, my kids moved the pouf to every room of the house. They rolled it, somersaulted from it, jumped off it, danced on it, and occasionally sat on it. It was the perfect size for them. I recalibrated. The pouf became a seat of its own. It became the focal point of a kid-sized reading corner.

The kids stopped jumping off of the pouf and started sitting.

My husband is still not wild about having a hot pink pouf in our living room, but he’s learning to live with it. I’m sure your husband will learn to live with your pouf too because Wayfair is offering 15% off any pillow, pouf, or throw from November 20 through November 24 with the code WFPTP15. Really. Any pouf, pillow, or throw. Just in time for a little holiday spruce up. So sorry about the pun.

I’m thinking that I’m going to take advantage of the offer too because...well just look.

Hmmm. What to buy, what to buy? Two more days to decide before the sale starts. Pin it all. Tag me. I would love to see photos of what you end up with!
