the review: crawfish boil
I am the oldest of sixteen cousins on my mom’s side of the family. It’s a pretty big family by today’s standards but not uncommon in the south. It never seemed odd to me growing up that it was insanely loud at family gatherings and that our family filled every space to the brim. Great preparation for my life today, I guess.
We had a great excuse to get together last week for my cousin Whitney’s wedding. Everyone was happy for Whitney and Dusty and most of us were able to travel in for the wedding (although we were missing quite a few cousins). What better excuse than a wedding during crawfish season to continue the family party?
My cousin Wesley and his wife Shayna cooked up some amazing crawfish. My husband was eager to learn Wesley’s boiling methods (although where we would get crawfish in Idaho I have no idea), so he tagged along to help. I’m just going to let the photos speak for the rest of the day. And my appologies that these are all iphone photos.
It was awesome. Thanks, Uncle Johnny, for making this happen and thanks Wesley and Shayna for being the chefs. It was the perfect end to a great weekend.
