the review: recycling recipes
If you followed the menu for last week, you’ll know that there were quite a few repeats of previous meals. I’ve been practicing my Santa’s Elf routine and as far as I know, kitchen duty is not one of the responsibilities.
We did try a lovely cauliflower recipe last Monday, so if you are still looking for a last minute side for Thanksgiving, I would definitely pick this one. Other than the cauliflower, everything was a repeat. Chicken Milanese with arugula (make this – second time better than first and still love that it is baked), pork yakisoba (make this), quesadillas (kid favorite)… Not a whole lot to report. And yes, I am still most definitely in a photography rut.
Oh! I almost forgot. The little kids completed their responsibility chart and we celebrated last Sunday night with (their choice) date night. Of course, they both wanted to do the same thing so we sat in different spots in the movie theater (go see Big Hero 6 if you haven’t already) before sharing ridiculously high calorie food and playing shuffleboard.
Yes. The kids most definitely picked the dinner spot. The night was a winner all around (except for the food, obviously). I’m so proud of them for working on new habits for four weeks in a row. Let’s hope we can keep it going through Christmas.
