the menu: week of august 10

Remember way back in June when I ordered the basket of produce from Bountiful Baskets and planned my week around the surprise that awaited me on Saturday? Yep. We are doing that again. I'll be posting a menu for the week on Sunday. My garden has been pathetic this year. I have to get the veggies from somewhere.

In addition to the basket, I ordered a nineteen pound case of peaches and six pounds of black mission figs. Start filling my comment section with peach and fig suggestions please. It's a fair bet that we are going to have pizza next week with figs, prosciutto, goat cheese, and arugula or warm fig, prosciutto, and mozzerella sandwiches. Maybe even grilled corn and peach salad. It's also a fair bet that I'm going to be canning until the cows come home. A little fig preserve maybe? Or some homemade fig newtons? Oh, and we are going to make ice cream. We are also going to the symphony again and starting football and soccer two-a-days and continuing with hockey training. It is going to be a busy week, people. Stay tuned.
