the review: Polar Express PJ party

We skipped the planned menu last night (Greek Meatballs with Zucchini and Corn Orzo) in favor of a Polar Express party at a local library. Any kind of party that involves wearing pajamas is a party for me. Especially if there is cake (or in this case, cookies and cocoa). Each child was asked to bring a gently used toy or stuffed animal to donate to a child in need. There were stories (including a reading of The Polar Express, of course) and crafts and a visit from Santa, who gave each child a bell. 

It was a lovely night off of cooking.
