When my husband and I decided to take the kids to Disneyland over spring break, we thought they would be excited. You know, like kids going to Disneyland excited. The initial response? “Ho, hum. I’m a teenager and I don’t get excited about anything.” Even the little kids were nonchalant about it. I think Théa actually said that she would stay with Gran while we went on our trip. What on earth was going on here?

For those uninitiated to the craziness that is Frozen-mania, the movie is the most recent princess movie in the Disney Dynasty and tells a story of two sisters (Elsa and Anna) that is loosely based on The Snow Queen. This Disney movie is unique in that (spoiler alert!!) true love does not always come in the form of Prince Charming.

Read MoreOn Tuesday, we talked about the amazing frozen banana cake. Today, we move on to the frozen banana cake’s much simpler sibling, the banana sheet cake. We are not talking Texas sheet cake here. The recipe calls for a 9”x13” pan. I used an 8” square and 8” round for mine with the intention of freezing one for later before frosting. Read MoreWhen I was a little girl, I spent a good portion of the summer at my grandparents’ house. Most of my memories from that time center around food in some way. There was always so much food to choose from and my grandmother was a firm believer is spoiling her oldest granddaughter. Add to the well-stocked pantry that someone was always dropping by with fresh beans or tomatoes or shrimp or cake, and it is a wonder that I wasn’t a total blimp of a kid.

Instead of a recipe review, let’s talk a little more about Instagram. I was talking to someone yesterday about Instagram and her impression was that Instagram is a place where people post pictures of themselves. She said she didn't get the attraction. I totally agree. I don’t follow any of those people. I do follow people that take pictures of their kids and their food and their coffee (at an alarming rate, I might add, and I'm still trying to understand why). Sometimes these pictures are just beautiful and sometimes not so much. But in between the kids and the coffee is the awesome.
Read MoreI think I have a problem. Maybe several. But let's only get into the simple ones here. The first problem is that I spend too much time on Instagram. The second is that I can’t pin things from Instagram. Is there an app for that? Someone please tell me what it is. For now, my totally inefficient solution is the screen shot. This means I end up with a bunch of screen shots every week that I put into a folder on my hard drive for later and then forget about. Very effective.
I’ve decided to start clearing my folder out and you get to see what I think is cool on Instagram. Sound good? Excellent. Let’s get started.

Oh, and it took FOREVER. Seriously, we almost didn’t have dinner. That half of a batch of dough that I froze over the weekend made 90 mini heart cookies. I have no idea what I was thinking taking this on this afternoon.
